The widow of a Civil War veteran with an eleven year old son when she re-married in the winter of 1879, to an English emigre batchelor, Alfred Swoffer. The ceremony was in the home of his brother, W.J. Swoffer, and was officiated by her father, (in-law?) a justice of the peace. She died from complications of childbirth in 1886 after the birth of a son, George, who also died. Another source (History of the Minnesota Valley, pub 1882) cites her birthplace as Michigan.
